An outstanding one-week fiddle camp will take place in Ashland, Oregon during July 2017. The camp, divided into two groups according to age, will offer experienced string students of violin, viola or ’cello an enjoyable release from the structure of their classical studies and will finish with a short public performance.
This camp will take place mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Warm ups will include classical songs from the Suzuki repertoire but will be followed by fiddle tunes, enjoyable string games, and the chance to play instruments outdoors.
This camp will take place afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Advanced string students will have the opportunity to form ensembles, try out electric string instruments, and experiment with jamming in alternative styles of music such as Celtic, Mariachi, Country and Rock.
Ashland Philharmonic Fiddlers Camp is taught by Patricia Potter, M.Ed., a long-time valley strings instructor and performer.
