Cynthia Cournoyer is a private teacher of violin and viola. A graduate of California State University and current member of the MTNA, Music Teachers National Association — OMTA district, Cynthia teaches in Grants Pass, Oregon. She is a member and violinist with the Rogue Valley Symphony and a member of Jefferson Baroque Orchestra. Playing experience includes the Rogue Opera, Rogue Valley Chorale Association, Rogue Music Theatre, Three Rivers Chorale, One Eleven Theatre Company and various chamber groups.

Cynthia’s teaching experience includes almost eighteen years as a private teacher and violin/viola coach for the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon, the Grants Pass High School and the Grants Pass Honor Orchestra. She has done coaching in association with the Rogue Valley Symphony, worked with Classical Coaches for Grants Pass High and South Medford High Schools, and was a teacher for the “Link Up with Carnegie Hall” program at Phoenix, Oregon Elementary School in 2014.

Cynthia Cournoyer offers education in methods and technique that is compatible with school strings programs, homeschool and the YSSO (Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon). Materials include Suzuki repertoire, the Applebaum String Builder Series, Wohlfahrt books, Mazas books, school assignments, theory, and solo repertoire. She also works with students to prepare them for auditions, competitions and recitals.
