Southern Oregon Songwriters Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated, through education and community, to supporting the craft and art of composing original music. This is accomplished through song sharing, performance opportunities, workshops and other events. Since 1998 SOSA has hosted workshops, open mics, songwriting contests, concerts in the park, house parties, camp outs and other educational and performing opportunities for writers of original music. President of SOSA is Mich Lewis; Vice President is Diana Roarty.
Currently SOSA is hosting a 4th Friday open mic for original music only at the Pony Espresso in Jacksonville. Signup starts at 5:30 pm, and the music runs from 6:00 pm — 8:30 pm. A camp out workshop is in the planning stages and will be happening in September. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details. Random house parties, open to members only, are happening throughout the summer. Membership in SOSA is $20 per year. Come on down to an open mic and support original music in our valley!
