Note: Contact information for Ashland Philharmonic Fiddlers Camp located below.

An outstanding one-week fiddle camp is planned to take place in Ashland, Oregon during the summer of 2024. The camp, divided into two groups, will offer experienced string students of violin, viola or ’cello an enjoyable release from the structure of their classical studies and the chance to make new friends and play new music.

For students just finishing grades four to six:

Camp 1

This camp will take place mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Warm ups will include classical songs from the Suzuki repertoire and will be followed by fiddle tunes, enjoyable string games, and the chance to play instruments outdoors.

For students just finishing grades seven to twelve, plus adults:

Camp 2

This camp will take place afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The camp is inter-generational and is intended for mature younger students plus adults with previous string experience. Students will have the opportunity to form ensembles, try out chamber music, and learn alternative styles of music such as Celtic, Jazz and Improvisation, Country and Rock.

Ashland Philharmonic Fiddlers Camp is taught by Patricia Potter, M.Ed., a long-time valley strings instructor and performer.
